Golf
The Highlands offer some of the most remote and scenic golf courses in Scotland. There are four golf courses in the Lochaber region. Traigh Golf Course, north of Arisaig, is a nine-hole course with terrific sea views. Fort William Golf Club offers a challenging 18 hole course with fantastic mountain views. Spean Bridge Golf Club, is a testing nine-hole course, nine miles north of Fort William with good views of Ben Nevis. Dragon’s Tooth is a nine-hole parkland course in Ballachulish, 12 miles south of Fort William.

Fishing
Moidart, Ardnamurchan, Morvern, Arisaig and Mallaig offer some of the best sites for game fishing in Scotland, ranging from short spate rivers to freshwater and sea lochs. Good fishing is combined with stunning mountain, glen and coastal scenery. There are many hill lochs and lochans in the estates of Loch Shiel and Kinlochmoidart that support good fly fishing opportunities for brown trout. For example, Blain Burn, near Acharacle, and Loch Shiel in Moidart. The Ardnamurchan Estate also offers game fishing in Loch Mudle, and the Ardtornish Estate on Loch Arienas and Loch Doire nam Mart. There also good fishing at Loch Morar.
River Shiel offer salmon, brown trout and sea trout fishing. Day and weekly rod and boat permits are available from Outdoor Shop in Acharacle. Game fishing is also available on the River Strontian, River Polloch and Carnoch. Permits are available from the Strontian Angling Association and can be bought locally at Strontian Village Store. There is also opportunity to fish for salmon on the River Achateny (Ardnamurchan Estate), River Moidart (Kinlochmoidart Estate) and River Aline (Ardtornish Estate) when the rivers are in spate.
There are good opportunities for shore fishing in open sea and in Loch Sunart and Loch Moidart by shore, boat or private charter.
