Archaeological Excavation Open Days
Sunday 22nd July and Sunday 29th July 2018 from 10:00 to 15:30
Ardnamurchan Transitions Project are back on the Peninsula for the next few weeks!
The Ardnamurchan Transition Project is a 15 year research project which is looking at archaeological evidence of the people who lived on the Ardnamurchan Peninsula from 6000 years ago to the present day.
The project is directed by staff from the Universities of Manchester and Leicester, and Archaeology Scotland. This is the 12th year of the project and they will be undertaking both survey and excavation work. They would like to invite members of the public to come and see how they are getting on.
They will be excavating a range of sites on the outskirts of Swordle. You can find them by leaving the B8007 and following the signs for Ockle. Please pull into Swordle Farm and park by Swordle Byre. The sites are located just a short walk from the parking and will be sign posted.
